Some questions regarding Caribbean routing on AE

I called AE and the agent was incapable to answer some questions about their rules on stopover/open jaw for Caribbean...

I am assuming that any Caribbean countries count as being in North America, so it does not qualify for a stopover/open jaw with a Star Alliance airline?

If that is the case, I am restricted to AC metal to add a stopover/open jaw Yeg-___-BGI?

Would YEG-YYZ Open jaw JFK-BGI-YEG be a valid routing? It says the OJ has to be less miles than the other flights.

And am I safe to assume that the only city I can legally stopover from YEG is in YYZ, since I have to fly on AC Metal to have a stopover/openjaw and most Caribbean flights leave from YYZ?

Thanks, couldn't get any help from AE
