At most it is a mile or two to the hotel, so a taxi is reasonable even with a generous tip for the Family Plan!
Because the taxis have to wait for long hours to get a fare, the city instituted a minimum $15 fare when leaving the airport, even if you're only going a mile or so. It was to avoid the scenario of someone hopping into a cab & then saying to take them to the Marriott/4Pts/Hilton a mile away.
