I'm flying on a UA Award travel ticket on three different airlines (in the following order)

1.) United ( 1 bag free)
2.) Air Canada (1 bag free)
3.) Thai Airways (2 bags free)

I heard that when I check in at the airport and the let the rep know that I am connecting on a partner carrier. They will waive the fee for the 2nd checked bag. Is this true?
