It actually does not say so, and I HAVE looked at the baggage-section of delta.com. The clause that this benefit is extended to up to eigth additional passengers on the same reservation is restricted to "Medallion members" as per wording, and I am looking for actual experiences from STE+ members (not Delta Medallion) to understand if the wording is just an unfortunate "short cut" or factually followed as written.
In US Airways' case, which has about the same notation, I know from own experience that they extend that benefit to anyone on the same reservation that is not a group-reservation...
