No. Well, it depends upon what value you put on an extra 2k MR points.
That would convert instantly to 2k extra Avios. [Or more if you waited in MR points for any bonus to come along.]

Now, even the most conservative of us would put a value of 0.75p on an Avios, which would make them be worth £15 minimum. I don't know what value you put on them yourself (always know in your mind your own value of things!) some people will use a penny, some even a little more if they know they can use 2-4-1 vouchers from their other BA credit card.

If you value an avios point below 0.5p [Or rather, if you value an MR point below 0.5p each (which I would be shocked about), then I'd suggest it might be more in your interest to get a cashback paying credit card, rather than a loyalty pouints one!.

But as I said, know your own value to you. [I mostly travel on my own , so a 241 is of no real value to me.] But I manage to get about 0.8p to 1.2p of value per Avios point at least.
Don't rule out cash back cards, for some people they are better, but if you can make miles/MR points work for you, then they do win over cashback cards.

pauldb made a good point about whether you had your own personal MR account, the fact that you don't further makes it more likely you would get the bonus, etc.
