Not just in China, but actually within the Southeast Asia region. CX has great regional award availability and HKG-TPE is only 4.5K, or 9K in business. Similarly, HKG-BKK is only 7.5K. I have taken advantage of the HKG-TPE in J and it is a good deal.

The only annoying thing is that awards are pricing per-segment, so anything that connects through HKG is not as good of value, due to the double segment costs.
