Aside: am realizing some attitudes in this Marriott forum much less pro-active than other areas of flyertalk -- but, hey, all it takes are a few good ones!
Actually multiple FTers have provided input in all of the threads you started, and took time in some posts to provide detailed input/help you out. No one had to provide any info to you. If they agree w/ you, they're good FTers. If they don't, you accuse them of having an attitude or are snarky (something that could be said of you, btw, with some of your responses) simply because you don't like their input.
It's up to you & your own ethics on contacting Marriott after your stay to try & push the 60K points, when you know that a Cat 4 requires 80K points. And you started a thread on a public BB staying Marriott "erred" in your favor, so you can hardly feign ignorance. The agents seem to have gone & above in trying to help you out.
If you're lucky, all the dif changes won't be caught & your stay/check-in will go smoothly. But as
Rodger says, it makes sense to keep checking your account - and also to have a back-up plan if there's a problem at check-in.
You can tout contracts & what you were told, but you'll be checking into a hotel in a different country & it may be at a time when MR CS isn't open to help you out (presuming you have an int'l cell phone w/ you), and you'll have to deal w/ the situation then.
Hopefully things will go smoothly & you'll report back on all the great photos you took during your trip!
