Question Excess baggage fees when flying with BA and Aer Lingus ?

Hello everybody,

I hope this thread is in the correct forum.

I am planning on buying a trip on BA's website from Lyon (LYS) to Dublin (DUB).
There will be a connection in LHR and I need to take a 2nd suitcase.
I would like to know which airline will charge me for this 2nd suitcase ?

I asked BA by email who said that I will be charged twice: by BA (for LYS-LHR) and by EI (for LHR-DUB). I was surprised since my baggage will be checked through so when can EI charge me if I don't have to go to their counter in LHR ?
I know there is "IATA resolution 302" that says the most significant carrier will charge me since my first flight is also the longest one. But this resolution is not tackled on BA and EI websites.

The reason why I am worried about this is because EI excess baggage fees are prohibitive for the student I am. (195 euros one way for 20 kilos if paid online)

If somebody could help me, it would be great and sorry for my imperfect English.

Thanks in advance!
