I've seen it done on the old CO (now UA) with seafood dishes served in BusinessFirst. Even on my recent NRT-IAH flight (an old CO route), the lemon half served with my seafood dish was wrapped similar to the one shown above. The meal service was still in the old CO style and dishware, only the airline name has changed to United.
Some fancy restaurants also wrap lemon half with the muslin cloth.
