That's what I thought, too. With EK's expansion into NA in the last few years, seems they had less need for a codesharing agreement with UA. While UA flying to DOH now could be a possible reason they might not need a codeshare with QR as much, I wouldn't be surprised if it was QR that didn't want to renew, rather than the other way around.
