It was still there as of 2 months ago for awards, at least. I had checked award availability w/o signing in and all the award rooms were gone. I signed in (Diamond) and got extended awards, rooms that were opened or reserved for Diamonds for the same standard award costs. In the past, it used to say "call Diamond Desk". Now we can get the extra inventory online.

Overall, I agree with the others. Since the institution of the premium room award rates, the Diamond Force for awards is near useless. I had used it a few times before the change with great results. Now, with only standard award rooms sold out, you can't get a "Force" if premium (often high points) room is available.

The award Diamond Force is for completely "sold out" award rooms, standard and premium has essentially been phased out. In a complete sell-out position, the hotel can refuse issuing any more awards, making the "Force" be a paid reservation, at extra high prices, if it allows a "Force" at all. In sell-out situations, a hotel does NOT have to do a Force.
