Its lucky bmi hasn't always treated redemptions like they have in the last couple of days, or the routing threads would have been an even bigger nightmare. In the past I've flown two hours east to connect with a flight going west when there was no other availability. In the last two days they've been refusing an east to west stopover because the second connection point was about 2 seconds further east than the first.
