Blue is a way to obtain fee-free additional cards on a Membership Rewards account. All the points in a Membership Rewards account are classified based on the highest level card that you hold. If you have (for example) a Platinum card you can give free Blue cards to others in your family or business. The points earned with those Blue cards will be treated the same as points earned with the Platinum card and can be transferred to airline or hotel programs, or redeemed for purchased travel at $0.0125 each.
