If only it were that simple

. There are three families of Blue cards:
- Blue from American Express
- Blue Cash
- Blue Sky
The Blue Cash and Blue Sky cards do not participate in Membership Rewards. However, the original Blue from American Express participates in Membership Rewards
Express. Express points cannot be transferred to any other program, but can be used to preserve a Membership Rewards balance. When you are ready to transfer you would need to apply for another Green, Gold or Platinum card.
Do they still keep the Blue, after introduce the Blue Cash / Sky?
What is the advantage of Membership Reward Express versus the outright cash rebate on the Blue Cash and Blue Sky, assuming the latter dont need to pass a spend threshold before earning any rebate. Doesn't the original Blue has a spend threshold to go over before you earn anything meaningful?
