I don't think a month of no-card is long enough. I'm pretty sure you really need a much longer period. I don't know that there's a hard-and-fast rule, but most have suggested two years without a card.
I did a business churn (unintentionally, actually) with a no-card period of maybe 8 months or so, and it was successful.
