He was definitely a real African. I know this for two reasons:

1. He was dressed in slacks and a shirt and tie, which is how Africans tend to dress.

2. He had the African B.O. which I remember from taking a bus ride across Uganda and several share taxis in West Africa. People of African heritage who live in Western countries wear deodorant.

3. He slid into the middle seat; an African-American would have known to keep the middle seat buffer so as not to appear gay.
