True, but I can tell you from experience that having a lot of flight hours does not necessarily make one a "better" pilot. Some kids are fantastic right out of flight school and some "old dogs" have been sub-par their entire careers. Assuming he or she meets a certain standard, a pilot rises through the ranks in this industry based on seniority.
