Here's something odd I picked up today regarding a CDG connection. DL really came through for me.
I've got a connection for December at CDG where the time was a little tight. Then AF changed the schedule of my arriving flight at CDG, which made the connection tighter (down to 65 minutes).
The ticket was issued by DL, but both the arriving and departing flights are operated by AF.
DL's system is flagging the connection as too tight; less than their 75 minute connection minimum. Interestingly, AF is saying it is a permissible connection, as DL advises me AF has only a 60 minute minimum connection.
Unfortunately, my onward flight is the one flight a day to my final destination, and my booking class wasn't available on the earlier inbound flight to JFK.
A phone call to DL's SMS was met with deaf ears. However, I wrote a letter to DL and they called and emailed back today saying they forced and override on the earlier AF flight and simply re-issued my ticket in a new fare category (without me having to pay any difference).
I'd never been caught in a gulf between two carriers' connection times. While it would have been nice to get this done without a mailed letter, DL came through for me nicely. My new connection time is 150 minutes. Travelling en famille over the holidays, a little extra time is better than not enough!
That is awesome. Will keep that in mind, as have run into this several times.
