BA Gold -Experience, does age matter???

Hi guys,

I'm very new to this so please bare with me ! However I just wanted to share some experiences I've recently had being a Gold Card holder with BA. I'm fortunate enough to have had my gc for 2 years now, lots and lots of flying and I've never really seen a great reward for having it. Granted the First lounge in T5 is lovely but my gripe is:
I have never got any form of welcoming from the CSD or purser on both long-haul and short haul when flying in Club Europe, club world or WTP and WT. I fly all classes a lot! I know its fickle but it would be nice as usually I see them welcoming other club members with the iPads. They seem to look but walk passed me.

The first check in at T5 is awful, the reception staff have there hands folded and this most awful look like I'm they are doing me a favour.
The lounge staff at the entrances are exactly the same. Even when I ask for something reasonable it seems too much of a hassle.

I'm only 24 years old and I feel like they look and treat me differently from the other GC holders. Is this just my experience or does it vary with everyone?

Flown on Virgin Atlantic a few times and there staff usually seems a lot more friendly however I use the one world network more that VA so not
Switching lol

Being a GC holder it shouldn't matter what age I am, if I have the status I expect to be treated the same as every other club member.

Sorry gripe over
