You're right. I wonder whether A fares are available on these CFJ-700 flights; I know they are on some other Delta Connection carriers' CRJ-900s. Maybe the problem is that a lot of the 9 FC have already been sold on these flights so that A isn't available. Perhaps the OP should try advanced search for fare class A/P or higher and see what delta.dumb says.
