I just completed a stay at the Beaux Arts Hotel in Miami, FL and thought some people might be interested in a review of the property.
Stayed for 4 days, 3 nights using points (Category 7 Hotel so 35,000 points per night - total of 105,000) for a birthday weekend getaway.
- Reservation Process: Reservation was done through the Platinum Phone line after I had looked at several properties in Miami. I initially was going to stay at the Ritz Carlton in South Beach but after looking at the Beaux Arts, decided to try something new. About 2 weeks prior to our arrival, I received an email by one of their mamangers asking for our arrival time and if we needed anything to make our stay more enjoyable. I thought it was a nice touch. I received another email from the same manager a few days before our arrival just confirming our reservations.
- Upon arrival: we were greeted by a hotel staff in the lobby of the JW Marriott Marquis. The hotel itself is situated within the JW Marriott on the 38th, 39th, and 40th floor. It is designed as a VIP Boutique Hotel within the hotel with a small number of rooms and suites and its own Concierge Lounge.
We were escorted to the 39th floor to check in. As soon as we arrived to the 39th floor, we were greeted by our last name (why they ask for your arrival time) and invited into a small office type check in desk where they checked us in. We were offered refreshments and were escorted to our room.
- The room: we received a suite upgrade with a bay view. The room includes a living room, powder room, wet bar, bedroom, large bathroom with hot tub and shower.
The Living Room:
Very modern, art-deco design with Bang & Olufsen TV and sound system (in all rooms)
Being on the 38th floor, you get a pretty nice view of the bay:
Bedroom:
Each room comes with an iPad you can use to access the internet, request room service, look for hotel amenities:
Since it's a VIP Boutique hotel, each room comes with concierge Lounge access to the Atelier Lounge which is reserved for guests of the Beaux Arts Hotel (You also get access to the JW Marriott Lounge as a Platinum but the Beaux Arts Lounge is much better). They serve a full breakfast buffet each morning. For the 4 days we were there, we were they only one eating breakfast at 8 am (I'm an early riser). They also serve hors d'oeuvres in the evening but nothing to write home about. After the first night we went down to the JW Marriott Lounge which had a better offering.
The staff of the hotel is extremely professional and nice. They helped us with dinner reservation, beach directions, and anything else we needed - especially the lady in charge of the morning breakfast shift at the lounge - she was amazing!
The hotel itself is pretty nice and the JW Marriott Marquis offers a lot as well, pretty nice pool, virtual bowling alley, virtual gold course, pool table, full service gym and spa.
As far as restaurant, their main reatautant is closed on Sundays and their second restaurant called the Met Cafe was very dissapointing. However, there are a number of restaurants in the area, I would highly recommend Grimpa a Brazilian steakhouse less than a mile away.
Overall it was a great stay, very luxurious, quiet. They are big on the VIP treatment and the design of the room and the staff made our stay really confortable and enjoyable. I would highly recommend it if you're in the Miami area on business or vacation.
