I'm going to book a round trip award PEK-LAX a couple of months out, but not sure should I go with 1 RT or 2 OW.. Reason being for the return leg, I want to have a flexible date (i.e., I might have to change the date later).

oh, btw, I don't have status on UA. So what's the pros and cons of booking the trip as RT vs OW?
