The rates are good as well, there is a 24 hour deli inside the hotel and a Hertz onsite... If you need to rent a car, there is valet and self underground parking. Doubletree LAX parking is free. Food served at Hilton LAX is in the executive lounge for elites.
I've never stayed in the embassy suites but looking at their prices, I'd much rather stay at the doubletree.
I actually plan to rent from dollar since i've heard its the cheapest. I don't have status with any hotels. So I plan to go with Embassy Suites (North or South) or Sheraton Gateway. Looking from trip advisor, Hilton Los Angeles Airport has more very good reviews than excellent. I was thinking of having breakfast at the hotel but I rather go to the nearest denny's and have breakfast there.
