I checked in for yvr-sea on the morning of Oct 8 and used the new express machine. As I recall it was the same as the regular express check-in machines except for the colour. These are all silver and chrome. Most of my travel is short haul within BC so I didn't immediately notice anything different. My first clue were the three AC employees who surrounded me to offer any assistance. They told me the machines had recently been installed. I think they work very well.
