I don't think there will be any issues with immigration but you might find some issues with Bangkok Air. There might be a 1 night requirement with a ticket purchase.

Edit: Yup, just did a dummy booking and a same day r/t cannot be purchased.

Realistically you'll get little to nothing out of a 7 hour trip to REP anyway.
