What are you doing claiming avios?! You get more (2k per night at present during double miles) by crediting to Diamond Club and then, from July, across to BA.

The standard Hilton process is to join Hilton Honors, select 'points and fixed miles' and then set BA as your airline on the Hilton website and add your number. The miles then go across automatically. In theory, though, you can do it without the card although you may not get double miles.

I would retroclaim via Diamond Club, it may then work in your favour due to the extra miles.
