It already IS crowded. I stopped in the MIA AC on a flight in February. Frankly the terminal areas were quieter and more comfortable. Since anyone can now have access to the AC for $50 it would seem that the quiet oasis that I expect a lounge to be has dissapeared!

Correct. And if you use priority pass, you also sign a little slip after they slide your PP card. I agree with not letting every elite on Caribbean itins into the AC. It would be extremely crowded then. I am currently in the Cathay Pacific lounge at NRT (heading to the JL F lounge soon). It is night and day comparing a domestic AC to an international lounge. There are maybe 4 people in this lounge right now (1:40PM local time). You just need to learn to go to Central America for vacations! Costa Rica is very nice.
