I think this whole thread has got out of hand.

There is nothing to stop you being served a soft drink in First if you request it and I cannot imagine any crew member saying NO.

BA have reminded crew that while the aircraft is on the ground in the UK that the only alcohol that can be served is Champagne in First and Club World as this is their agreement with HMRC. At some destinations we are allowed to serve from the bars and others not so therefore the standard offering is still Champagne, fresh orange juice and water.
