I do not think that EK are in the business of breaking rules. If they pay the duty and VAT (whoever mentioned the Duty but remember that there is VAT to pay on the entire amount and the difference between Dom and Cava will make itself apparent then).

Why don't you PM me the flight and date and I will see who this crew member was. Speaking like this to any passenger in any class is so unusual and so wrong and so utterly against all training from the minute that they start training that I would like to know who this was. Three pages over whether you could drink red wine in the ten minutes before take off and discussions over BA's compliance with the rules (read laws to all intents and purposes) and its insistence that crew members obey these seems to have been triggered by this alleged rudeness.
