Canon EF 70-300 IS USM vs Canon EF 75-300 non USM non IS

Hi esteemed FlyerTalk photo people

I am asking this question back to front, I already own the EF 70-300 IS USM and don't much like it. Seems all it is useful for in my life is getting long shots of unsuspecting victims in natural poses in broad daylight.

For anything else, it seems too slow to me and a bit blurry over 200mm

Is there anyone that owns a former incarnation of this lens, such as one of the variants of the 75-300? This lens is much cheaper and I cannot imagine it is much worse at taking blurry long photos in broad daylight.

I am considering getting rid of the EF 70-300mm and replacing it with a cheaper model

Any thoughts?
