If you are holding HK passport, you suppose to hold HKID as well? And you don't know e-channel?!??

What I found is that if it's HKID following HKID it still what it suppose to be: you can put in your id card once the slot start flashing.

If you want to do passport after another guy you are out of luck and have to wait. Btw they just upgrade those bar code scanner to infused with RFID reader for smart passport, should make things more helpful later.
Yep I know e-channel and I use HKID to enter, but I know you can't (or at least I haven't tried) to use your HK passport to enter HK. I was just wondering if you could use the passport for the e-channel.
