M0hamed is absolutely right: if you don't stay at the hotel, you don't get stay credit. (Otherwise anyone could combine 25 different people's stays and get platinum status.)

are entitled to stay credit if you
do stay at the hotel, even if you don't check in first. So if your dad checks in on Monday, and then you arrive (and check in) on Tuesday, and both of you check out on Wednesday, you should probably get credit.
