Usually yes. The system will create a PNR for you.

But I would not call it a "reservation". You just list yourself to standby on a flight if space is available for you. There is absolutely no guarantee that you will fly on that flight. The listing just enables you to get a boarding pass and tells the gate agents how many non-revs to work and what their priority is.
