It was a slightly unpleasant experience, especially since the flight was almost full so the situation couldn't be solved easily by any of us just sitting down in a random free seat. In the end, I couldn't complain, though, since I was upgraded to seat 2F (probably thanks to my *G status) and could enjoy the pleasures of business class throughout the rest of the flight.

It has happened to me a few times on TK, but I don-t think it happens frequently. Like you, I have been fortunate enough to be upgraded.Once again, as in your case, maybe because of having *G status. So all has ended well.
