Booking online will also be tough for shorthaul, unless they introduce a specific eco- booking class in their booking engine. Currently the booking engine does not display a big array of fares. Basically it is the cheapest available fare for a given flight and possibly the full fare. How will it be possible to select fares depending on the amount of service? This would require a huge IT investment on the booking engine.
The more I think about it, the more it seems like AF is floating an idea that is hard to execute.
