There is something else which has drawn my attention in the Transform 2015 plan : the new possibility to modulate the several classes on long haul aircrafts in order to better stick to the market needs and adapt to the seasonality.
I can't just imagine how can this be technically possible ? If the modularity already exists on Short/medium haul flight thanks to the moving curtain, the wide-body configuration prevents that kind of mechanism.
First, by the seats themselves which are specific for each of the 4 classes and are thus "hardware" : they can hardly be disconnected from the floor unless heavy transformation works that can't be done every day ...
Second : the aircraft configuration with galley / lavatories on the middle of the cabins that add space constraints.
I hope we'll have maybe more details about this plan in the next few weeks when AF will unveil its new biz & first classes.
