Even the "Kettle" supporters here would see you as a Noob, not a Kettle. In the way Kettles are seen here, they can't likely be taught anything. The way they board a plane today is the same way they'll board it next year, and the next, and the next. You? You're on FT, learning about ways to optimize your flying experience. That's simply not something a Kettle would ever do. A Kayaker? Yes. A Noob? Maybe, almost definitely yes (or else they wouldn't be here).
OK, how about this test. You've traveled to over 40 countries? So when English isn't the native language, do you spend a lot of time trying to find someone who does speak English, and then exclaim "Thank goodness you speak English!" in a way that makes it obvious you think everyone should, or simply that you would never make the effort to learn a few snippets of their language? That's a "Kettle." Yes, I'm willing to say that "Kettle" shouldn't be banned but here, on FT, is inappropriately applied. Most of the time.
