Your status will go from CV (checked-in virtual) to CI (checked-in). Not a functional difference really, but GAs can see it and it means you're almost certainly in the airport. They might use that info if, eg, it's close to push back or the flight is oversold.

So most of the time it doesn't matter, but in some edge cases it might.
