Clear allows you to adjust the time you get to the airport. Pre-check is a lottery. Don't get me wrong, it is novel to keep your shoes on and laptop in your bag, but Pre-check wont impact how I budget my time. Clear allows me to cut it very close to departure time in DEN and MCO, which is how I like it.
