This is what I was hoping as well; I was able to get her a visa for South Korea much more easily because she has a green card.

I have dealt with the same issue. All I did was write a letter sayingt that I will bear the full financial resbonsibilty of my wife, had a photo copy of her passport and resident card + a photo of my passport and bank statement from the last three months. Not a problem.
