I originally booked ORD (L)-DEN (B)-NRT and back, it is a bit cheaper this way. But when they finally confirmed and check the upgrade option, all I can see is 30k miles + $600. There is no way to do segment by segment upgrade online.
So I booked another DEN-NRT RT to compare, sure enough, upgrade is only 30k miles.
Now I have DEN-NRT RT and cancelled my original ORD-DEN-NRT RT. I am crossing my finger K fare ORD-DEN show up one of these days

.
Price difference for booking a single NPR vs 2 separate NPRs were about $40.

Should I wait to call? Per MR rule? Just checking b4 pxxxOff everyone.
