joesherm13 - thanks for the suggestion. How cool is Amman to walk round for a few hours? Because I may scrap that on the morning of my first day there, and simply start the drive to Petra early (6am) to get there for ~9am and have all day there.

Otherwise I guess I could just drop Wadi Rum and overnight in Petra but sleeping in a Bedouin tent under the stars is supposed to be a cool experience. Did either of you guys do this?
