I tried to use cash to upgrade to F from a CW MFU ticket at check in and was told I could, no problem, but essentially I was buying a ticket in F at c£3000. I saw on this board a couple of others had similar experiences - no idea how full the F cabin was though. Not sure about airside upgrades.
