Cash Advance Question
Ok, so Ive never used the cash advance feature of credit cards before so please don't blast me if this is a stupid question:
When does interest actually start accruing when you make a cash advance? I've read online that its "immediately," but does that mean you are charged 1 day of interest for the day you make the advance, or does it start the next day?
I travel quite a bit, and really love the amex plat for buying foreign currency because you can pretty much charge it like a purchase at those amex counters at nearly spot rate with no fees at all, plus you can link your checking account to your card and withdraw from ATMs for a flat fee thats cheaper than my bank's flat + %.
So, with this card I was hoping to use the cash advance feature abroad when there is no amex counter since there are no cash advance and forex fees.
So ultimately my questions are - Is there any way to avoid the interest accrual? For example, I can get on my phone and pay the withdraw immediately? And does the payment go toward cash advance first?
