The transfer at Makkasan involves a walk and crossing a road which is traffic heavy. You can take the airport express to Phaya Thai (end of the line) and then change line to Asok station. There is no road crossing and if I remember, the Asok station has an exit close to the Sheraton.
Thank you, JohnSIN. Seems like several more stops, but if it's easier in the end and about the same amount of time, it makes sense.
