I agree that OP should have kept his mouth shut despite the unhelpfulness of the staff. The supervisor bent the rules for him, he should have been thankful and kind.

There are certain U.S. airports in which AC operations are handled by UA staff. The list includes RDU and SEA. I took the SEA-YVR flight a few weeks ago, and the check-in agent at SEA said that they use the UA system, which for AC flights does not allow OLCI, kiosk check-in, battlefield upgrades for AC elites, or notation of elite status or *G on boarding passes. In addition, mileage crediting is poor.
