1. The supervisor did OP a favor and OP repaid that with a snarky comment essentially telling the supervisor how to do her own job.

2. OP could have used the opportunity to a positive end, by explaining to the supervisor how inconvenient AC's new system is.

The former was inappropriate. The latter was at least a shot at getting things fixed.
