I see where you're coming from. It becomes a little bit less special, but it's nice to not have the pressure to try to make every trip perfect because it's the only time you'll ever get there. I did my first RTW westbound from NYC in late '09 and at the time it was like "OMG, need to rush around and see everything, who knows how long it'll be until I get back." I've gone RTW in both directions from NYC already this year and we're what, 5 months in? It's nice to know that (at least in the developed and established nations) things aren't going to be hugely different from visit to visit, and if you miss something you can see it next time in a year or two...and with the knowledge FT gives us, you always know that you will 100% have the ability to get back there, as long as you stay in good health.
