Unless it is a short trip (ie a business trip) to the US I find that getting a reasonable sleep in CW means that it takes me longer to adjust to UK time (sometimes weeks). If I travel WT and get no sleep I have a dreadful flight/night but find a can get back to UK time in a few days. That said for the pain of an overnight in Y with no sleep I would always choose CW if I can.
