Depending on the frequency of your traveling, you might want to think about doing at least a gold status challenge to be able to preselect preferred seats without fees, but at the least, a better chance at not being stuck at the back of the bus. You'll also have the opportunity to upgrade, although your upgrade chances as a gold are typically pretty slim these days.
As for the AC one day pass, that's subject to your interpretation if it's worth it. But if you think of it like you buy a one day pass, enjoy it's use, and if you end up buying a few more one day passes, before you know it, you could have just bought an AC membership for the same cost. So if you're really going to commit your flying to AA, then all those points are things to seriously consider.
Now, if you don't fly enough to maintain a status, then I would say no to all of it and just go with fee-free unassigned seats and skip the club. No sense in paying up to an extra $100 for some preferred seats and a short time in the airline club.
